Terms of Use

Effective date: September 25, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Cerebro Keyboard ("the App"), operated by Allonsy GmbH ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cerebro, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App. We recommend that you also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

2. Service Description

Cerebro is an iOS keyboard extension that provides voice-to-text transcription. The App records audio on your device, sends it to our server for processing via our speech recognition service, and returns the transcribed text to your device. Cerebro also offers optional AI modes that rewrite or translate the transcribed text, and a list of community modes (Section 9).

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Cerebro only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the App to transcribe content that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure.
• Use the App to process content that infringes on the rights of third parties.
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls.

4. Voice Data Processing

When you use the voice-to-text feature, audio is recorded on your device and transmitted to our server, which processes it through our speech recognition service for transcription. Audio is not stored on our servers and is discarded immediately after processing. Transcription results are returned to your device and stored locally only.

You are responsible for ensuring that any audio you submit does not contain sensitive personal data of third parties without their consent.

5. Third-Party Services

Cerebro relies on OpenAI for transcription and on Anthropic's Claude, run by Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services, for the optional AI text transform modes. By using Cerebro, you acknowledge that your audio will be processed by OpenAI on servers outside the EU, and the transcribed text, when you use a transform mode, by Claude, in the EU where available. We are not responsible for how these providers handle data processed through their services.

6. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the App, including but not limited to its design, code, graphics, and trademarks, are owned by Allonsy GmbH. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal or business purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You retain ownership of all content you create or transcribe using the App.

7. Pricing and Subscriptions

Cerebro offers a free plan with a limited number of monthly transcriptions, which invitations can raise with extra transcriptions (Section 8). Unlimited transcriptions are available through a paid subscription ($5.99/month or $47.99/year in the United States; prices vary by region), managed via Apple's In-App Purchase system.

• Subscription prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies.

8. Invitations and Extra Transcriptions

You can invite people to Cerebro with your invite code (“Give 5, get 5”). These rules apply:

• Who can redeem: only people new to Cerebro. The App must have been downloaded with their Apple Account no more than 14 days before they redeem, on a device newly set up for Cerebro. Each Apple Account can redeem one invite, never its own code, and not the code of someone it invited.
• The new user’s bonus: 5 extra transcriptions every month, once they have made a successful dictation (right away if they already have when they redeem).
• Your bonus: 5 extra transcriptions every month for each person who redeems your code and then makes at least 3 successful transcriptions on at least 2 different calendar days within 30 days of redeeming. Up to 10 such people count, so at most 50 extra transcriptions a month.
• What extra transcriptions are: an addition to the free plan’s monthly allowance. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred, bought, sold or exchanged for Cerebro Pro. While you have Cerebro Pro they are not needed, and they are kept for if you return to the free plan. Invites in TestFlight or other test versions do not count in the App Store version.
• Sharing: share your code only with people who want it; we never send invitations for you. If you post your code publicly, for example on social media, in forums or in videos, say that you get a bonus for it. Do not post it on coupon, deal or code-swap sites.
• Abuse: we may refuse or revoke invites and bonuses gained by breaking these rules, for example with made-up devices, several Apple Accounts of the same person or swapped codes. Revoking an invite takes back the bonus of both people involved.
• Changes and ending the program: we may change or end the invitation program only for a valid reason: abuse we cannot stop otherwise, a substantial rise in our transcription costs, legal requirements, or changes by Apple that make the program impossible. We announce such changes on this page and in the App’s release notes at least 30 days in advance, and they apply only to the future. Bonuses already earned keep running for at least 12 months after the program ends. For the same reasons we may pause the program for a while: during a pause no invites can be redeemed and invites do not yet count for the person who shared the code (they count after the pause if the conditions were met in time). A new user who already redeemed still gets their bonus with their first dictation, and bonuses already earned keep running. Section 13 does not apply to this section.

9. Community Modes

You can send us an AI mode you made for the community list in the App. We check every submission before it is published, and we decide whether and in what form we publish it. There is no right to publication.

• Licence: by submitting a mode, you grant us a free, non-exclusive licence, unlimited in time and place, to publish it in the App, on our website and in App Store materials, to edit it (for example to shorten it or make it work better) and to translate it. You keep all other rights to your mode.
• Your name: we show the author name you enter publicly with the mode, exactly as you entered it. If you don’t want your real name to appear, enter a nickname.
• What you may submit: only modes you made yourself or are allowed to share, that break no law, infringe no one’s rights and follow the community rules below.
• Withdrawal: you can withdraw this licence at any time by writing to info@allonsygmbh.com. We then remove the mode, or only your name if you ask for that, from the community list with its next update.

Community rules

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content. A community mode, including its name and prompt, must not:

• spread hate, or demean people for their origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any similar characteristic;
• harass, threaten, bully or expose anyone;
• contain or produce sexual content;
• pass text off as the real words of a real person (a recognisable parody of someone’s style is fine);
• make the AI do anything other than rewrite the dictated text, for example answer questions, follow instructions contained in the text or add facts or claims that aren’t in the dictation (a style may add its typical words and phrases).

We don’t publish submissions that break these rules, and we remove a published mode as soon as we learn that it does. We may refuse further submissions from anyone who breaks them. To report a community mode, write to info@allonsygmbh.com; we check every report.

10. Disclaimers

Cerebro is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App's accuracy, reliability, or availability. Transcription results may contain errors, and you are responsible for reviewing and verifying any transcribed text before use.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. Maintenance, updates, or external factors may temporarily affect availability.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Allonsy GmbH shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for damages arising from intent or gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under German law. For cases of slight negligence, our liability is limited to breaches of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), and in such cases, liability is limited to the foreseeable, typically occurring damage.

12. Termination

You may stop using Cerebro at any time by uninstalling the App. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the service or other users.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually live. To the extent permitted by law, the courts in Hamburg, Germany, have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
